Our pre-poured agar plates (Petri dishes) are designed for the efficient detection and cultivation of yeasts, molds, fungi, and mycelium. These plates promote rapid growth and robust mycelium development.

- Agar
- Nutritional yeast
- Malt extract
- Water

1. We recommend that agar plates remain unopened and are refrigerated (not frozen) so that they last longer. Agar plates should be used within 60 days of purchase.

2. When you are ready to use, remove the agar dishes from the refrigerator and let them warm up to room temperature. This generally takes anywhere from 30 min to 1 hr.

3. All work should be done in front of a HEPA filter laminar flow hood, or within a clean still air box.

4. Using clean/sterile instruments, deposit culture samples or spores to the surface of the plates.

5. Replace the lid of the petri dish back on top, then use parafilm or other adhesive tapes around the edge of the plates to keep it sealed.
